PLANNING APPLICATIONS

A Planning Application is a formal request made to a local planning authority (LPA) for permission to carry out development or building work. A planning application is a legal requirement and ensures that any proposed development complies with the relevant planning policies and regulations. A planning application can be made for a wide range of developments, including new buildings, changes to existing buildings i.e. extensions and changes to the use of land or buildings. To complete a planning application drawings and plans of the proposed development, along with necessary supporting documents must be submitted to the LPA.

It is often recommended to engage with architects to complete the drawing and submission process, but engaging with architects often is accompanied with high fee’s to complete such work. At GJS Design we are Planning Consultant that carry the experience and knowledge to complete Planning Applications at a competitive rate with the same results – approval for your application. We will advise on the challenges that are often faced and direct you to ensure your development will meet the relevant regulations to obtain approval. Not all developments require a full Planning Application and may fall within permitted development, however the development will still require drawings to support with the design, build and to demonstrate approval with the UK Building Regulations.
